Grad Project Plans

Capstone Papers

Graduate studies in the School of Communication, Integrated Marketing Communication program conclude with a capstone course or an internship. Students interested in digital media usually opt to take a course that focuses on developing a professional-quality project plan. Students who enroll in this seminar use the Project Management Book of Knowledge and project management templates to guide their efforts.

Each student develops a plan for a project of their choice. The sample plans available here were developed in the capstone course under the direction of Dr. Jonathan Adams.

The plans listed here serve as reference works for current students and as a preview for prospective students to provide some insight as to the relevance and quality of the capstone projects. Follow the links to view PDF versions of the project plans.

Student plans 2007 - 2008

The spring 2008 section of RTV 6425 is the first semester that students have written plans without developing the accompanying media. The influence of the project management certificate program is evident in these plans, as the plans are using some templates drawn from PMP guidelines, and from sources that adhere to industry standards.

Student plans 2006 - 2007

These plans were written under the former curriculum of the Interactive and New Communication Technologies program. The papers listed here were written in conjunction with the development of web site projects. Considering the double workload that these students had to carry, these papers are extensive and extraordinary.
