Grad Showcase 2004-2005
This academic year marks the first year we offered a section on database design and development. We had several projects built using dynamic pages (CFML), with a database holding all of the content.
| Nadia S. created an interactive web site for a new business, Spanish and Portuguese International Programs (SPIP). The web site will function as a link between people in the US who are interested in learning Spanish and/or Portuguese and language schools in Latin American countries.

| Judith C. created an interactive web site for Functionality, a store that offers unique and modern furnishings, lighting and eclectic gifts and accessories. Using Macromedia Flash, this site is intended to capture and retain user interest, while appealing to his or her unique and sophisticated nature.

| Erica B. produced a documentary DVD, which outlines the issues faced by Southern Sudanese women and tells their story through the eyes of those now living in the United States. This project was created using Final Cut Pro HD, DVD Studio Pro and Adobe After Effects.

| Melissa P. designed and developed a web site for Washington Post journalist and author Michelle Singletary. This project is intended to allow the client to reach her audience with information regarding her lecture series, personal appearances and archived Post articles, as well as provide a two-way communication medium encouraging readers to interact with the author directly via email.

| Eric E. managed a project team remotely, via the Internet, to redesign the Advanced Systems Design company web site. The project team Eric managed was spread throughout the United States. As communicated though the project document, Eric's experience provided material for an interesting case study, outlining the advantages and disadvantages of managing an off-location staff.

| I-Peng T. created a Garbage and Recyclable Collection Public Service Web site for Taipei City, using Macromedia Flash. The goal of this project is to help train and educate Taipei City residents on cultivating a sense of community-wide environmental protection. Upon visiting this site, residents will have access to the completed information and details of the "Garbage and Recyclable Collection" policy.

| Roberto P. developed a web-based dictionary of Instructional Systems Design (ISD) terminology, using Macromedia Coldfusion and Microsoft Access database technology. This project provides visitors with an easy-to-access reference to the specific terminology used in their everyday ISD-related activities.

| Marcy A. designed and developed a web site for Lauderdale Lakes Commissioner candidate Barrington Russell. This project was developed using Macromedia Coldfusion technology, with the intent to increase awareness of the candidate's objectives and help raise campaign funds among other things.

| Chris S. redesigned the Tallahassee Challenger Learning Center web site using Macromedia Coldfusion and CSS technology. The primary purpose of the redesign is to more effectively market the IMAX movies, technological enhancements of the theaters and the mission simulators, while reaching out to science educators and students about the CLC's facilities.
